  Positivt at Aftenposten i en artikkel i dag ettergår ordningen for humanitær eksport av biler til Ukraina. I artikkelen fremgår det at de to siste årene er sendt over 8600 biler fra Norge som humanitær bistand. Aftenposten har avdekket at i løpet av halvannet år lå 151 av bilene fra Norge ute til salgs. Misbruket som Aftenposten omtaler relaterer seg til noen få utenlandske personer/aktører. Vi i Ukrainian Freedom Convoys (UFC) er blitt intervjuet og omtalt av Aftenposten: «Flere norske organisasjoner driver reell bistand og sender biler til de væpnede styrkene i Ukraina. Ukrainian Freedom Convoys (UFC) er en av dem. Ledelsen reagerer sterkt på det som kommer frem i Aftenpostens reportasje. – Det er svært beklagelig at ordningen for humanitær bistand misbrukes, og at noen utnytter situasjonen til egen vinning, sier styreleder for UFC, Ole Kvåle. UFC mener bilene er avgjørende for støtten til Ukraina. – For soldatene ved fronten er en bil ofte forskjellen på liv og død. Når disse bilene i stedet selges for profitt, settes ukrainske liv direkte i fare, sier styremedlem Mariia Dushenko, styremedlem i UFC. Fronten i Ukraina har en enorm appetitt på biler. Stadige droneangrep gjør at kjøretøyene som brukes av de væpnede styrkene, hele tiden må skiftes ut. Organisasjonen har hittil levert 500 biler til Ukraina, hovedsakelig til militære avdelinger. De har satt i gang en rekke tiltak for å forhindre misbruk av bilene. Aftenposten har ikke avdekket noe misbruk med UFCs biler. – Men det vil alltid være risikoer ved å jobbe i et land i krig, slik at vi kontinuerlig må jobbe for å hindre at bistanden misbrukes, sier Kvåle. Også han er klar på at de norske bilene redder liv i krigen: – Nylig fortalte en soldat at han i vinter overnattet i en norsk bil ved fronten da det var 25 minus, ettersom varmeapparatet i bilen var eneste varmekilden som var tilgjengelig.» Anbefaler å lese artikkelen i sin helhet - lenke i kommentarfeltet. Bilene overleveres fysisk direkte til soldatene av UFC sine sjåfører, som regel i Kyiv. Vi følger opp også etter levering, blant annet gjennom direkte kommunikasjon med soldatene. I tillegg mottar vi jevnlig bilde- og videodokumentasjon av bilene i bruk, og vi besøker også mottakere ved fronten. De fleste UFC-biler er dessuten malt og merket slik at de er lett identifiserbare. Arbeidet i UFC skjer gjennom etablerte rutiner utviklet for å sikre etterlevelse av norsk, ukrainsk og europeisk regelverk, samtidig som risikoen for misbruk reduseres mest mulig i et land i krig. They were deploying a UGV when an FPV drone struck near their vehicle. They were unharmed, but their car was damaged and could barely move. We took the Land Rover for the rescue, since nothing else could tow the pickup. Everything went well, and both the vehicle and the guys were brought to safety.” This is why we do it. We will keep delivering vehicles for as long as they are needed at the front. And the need is still huge. Last week, I had the honor of delivering car number 500 to a unit on the eastern front. The vehicle, a Land Rover Discovery, was painted and marked by volunteers before leaving Oslo. It was marked with names from previous vehicles: Jotunheimen, Hagbarth, Crazy Vikings, Mariia, Mers, Olek, CMCF, Urania, STVG, God Jul, Pappa, Vitrik, Fury, Eddy, Disco, Bandy, Tyr, Sino, Hylla, Løken, Diana, Salmon, Elvdal, Bob, Veteranen, Tyra, Telemark and Dovre. Speaking of Dovre: We are not giving up.
