Happy Friday, #Fellas 🍷 🫠 Here is Lorelei, your SUV engine specialist 🫡 (against my will) I have learned so much over the past few days about the engines that I think I have earned the right to argue that buying a relatively new SUV, 10 years old or newer, for the frontline is not a very good idea. It will be used at the very edge of its capacity and will soon require serious repairs, just like any other 15-year-old vehicle or older. And that is when you get seriously screwed. A used, relatively new engine is not only staggeringly expensive, it is also very hard to find. Most likely, I will have to order the engine from Europe because we cannot find it in Ukraine. When I was told there might be a possibility to bring it for around €2,400, for the first time in a long while I did not even dare to squeak for a discount, because I already knew it was a bargain. I searched across the EU and the UK myself and could not find anything cheaper than €3,000. Now I am simply praying for confirmation that yes, they can deliver it for €2,300 to €2,400. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to increase the fundraising goal by an additional €700 to cover the labour for removing and reinstalling the engine, as well as the cost of oil, coolant, filters, and gaskets. At the moment, they have no operational SUV- their other two were destroyed by ruzzian FPVs over the past 10 days. Already allocated from previous fundraisers: €847 - please find the details and screenshots in the following post in this thread. Two weeks ago, the commander of the mortar platoon reached out for help to repair the engine. They had to wait in line, and while waiting, the available SUVs were destroyed-fortunately, everyone escaped unharmed. Yesterday, after disassembling the engine, it became clear that repair is impossible; a full replacement is urgently required. I had planned to use the remaining funds for another critical request🙄, but this situation has become top priority now🤷♀️. It’s my cross and constant dilemma-who to help first and how to allocate the funds most effectively. Time is critical. Every contribution matters. Let’s get their SUV back on the road.
